KICKBOXING - Solihull teenager wins six gold medals at international competition

KAIFAH Imran, from Castle Bromwich in Solihull, won a remarkable six gold medals and one silver representing England in an international martial arts competition.

The 14-year-old kickboxer, who attends Tudor Grange Academy Kingshurst, competed at the ICO World Combat Sports Martial Arts Championships in Hull.

And Kaifah topped the individual medal standings ahead of more than 550 of the best fighters from around the world.

She won gold in two light contact and two ring continuous categories while also taking gold in K1 contact and kick light as well as claiming silver in the martial box light (tatami) category.

The teenager has been practicing the sport since the age of eight at USKA kickboxing under the guidance of coaches Neil Kelly and Qasim Beg.

She trains for four to five hours a day at least six or seven times a week and is a junior coach and role model to the club’s younger members assisting with ninja classes.
