THE LIBERAL Democrats have named their Solihull prospective parliamentary candidate for the next general election.

Lyndon Councillor Ade Adeyemo has been selected by the Solihull and Meriden branch of the party.

Speaking after the news was announced to members, Coun Adeyemo said: “I am delighted to be selected once again as parliamentary candidate for Solihull.

“For me, the role of MP is be a full-time commitment to serving our community.

“An MP’s job is to be visible and on-hand, not just during election season but every day, listening to your concerns and working tirelessly to address them.”

This is the third time Coun Adeyemo has been selected to run for the party in Solihull since Baroness Lorely Burt was pipped to the post in the 2015 election by current Solihull MP Julian Knight.

In 2015 Coun Adeymo was selected to stand as the Liberal Democrat candidate for Meriden.

Following his announcement the Solihull Liberal Democrats said:”Ade is a true Solihull local, living and breathing in our community. He understands the unique challenges and aspirations of our town because he is one of us.

“It’s not just a political commitment; it’s personal. He knows the people, the area, and the heart of Solihull.”
