All welcome to free Alzheimer's awareness talk

Solihull Editorial 26th Aug, 2023   0

SILHILLIANS are invited to find out more about dementia in a talk at a care home.

Fountains Care Home in Solihull is hosting a free Alzheimer’s Awareness Talk where dementia-care trained staff will speak alongside guest speaker, David Rees-Jones, a dementia advisor from Alzheimer’s Society.

From 10.30am on September 7 there will be discussions on how to spot the first signs of dementia, how to get a diagnosis, how to look after your loved one living with dementia and how to fund care.

Organisers say there will also be a question and answer session at the end to find out more if needed.

Fountain’s general manager, Kim Dean, said: “We want to help and support relatives, friends and members of our local community who have loved ones who are living with dementia.

“We are inviting everyone to come along and listen to our talk to raise awareness of the condition and to help give people some information and coping strategies.”
