Solihull has highest numbers of police workers - says new study

SOLIHULL had the highest number of police force numbers in the UK, according to research by a security company.

A study, carried out by ADT in 2022, revealed the borough had 51 police force workers from West Midlands Police per 1,000 people.

The company said in theory, studies have indicated that where police force numbers are higher, crime is much more likely to be lower but Solihull had the highest burglary rate, per 1,000 of population, in the UK.

In second place is Bolton, under the Greater Manchester Police Force, with 38 police force workers per 1,000 people.

Neighbouring Coventry came in ninth with 21 police force workers per 1,000 people.

And Birmingham had the seventh lowest workers with just seven per 1,000 residents.

The study also claims Solihull has the highest fire incident rate in the UK with 83 incidents per 1,000 people for the year ending December 2022.
