TRIBUTES have been paid to a ‘loving son, uncle and brother’ who died after being hit by a car in Yardley.

Liam Jones tragically died after being hit by what West Midlands Police believe to be a Seat Leon near the junction of Moat Lane and Vera Road at around 11.55pm on August 1.

The 22-year-old was riding an electric bike at the time and was confirmed dead at the scene.

In a tribute his family said: “Liam was a loving, caring son, brother and uncle.

“He would do anything for anybody – he lived life to the fullest.

“He touched many hearts, gained many friends and he will be truly missed by family.

“We love you all the world – taken too soon.

“We need justice.

“We are truly heartbroken.

“Keep doing what you loved – bike it up there.”

Four people arrested on suspicion of his murder have been released on bail.

The investigation continues.

West Midlands Police said it understood the concern this incident has caused within the community and have stepped up reassurance patrols in the area.

It added: “We remain keen to hear from anyone who can assist our investigation and in particular anybody who was travelling through and has dash cam footage.

“We’ve set up a dedicated contact portal to get in touch with the investigation team and you can send any information, or footage, directly to detectives via this link: https://mipp.police.uk/operation/20HQ23N71-PO1.”
