A SHIRLEY care home has chosen an older people’s charity as its charity partner for 2023.

The team at Blossomfield Grange Care Home is aiming to raise over £1,000 for Age UK Solihull, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.

The Dog Kennel Lane home has already raised £350 through a chocolate raffle, donations from one of their resident’s 100th birthday, and a Quiz Night.

The quiz, which raised £181, was hosted by friend of Age UK Solihull, Fred Farren, and attended by 28 guests including the home’s staff, residents and their families, and some of Age UK Solihull’s own volunteers.

Rebecca Jacob, Digital Marketing and Fundraising Manager at Age UK Solihull, adds, “We are thrilled to partner with Blossomfield Grange for 2023.

“As a local charity, the support of the Solihull community means so much to us and helps us to continue to be here for older and vulnerable Solihull residents who need us.

“ We had great fun at the Quiz Night and we can’t wait for the next event.”
