New play equipment at Damson Lane Park

Solihull Editorial 17th Jan, 2023   0

A CLIMBING frame and a zip wire have been installed at Damson Lane Park.

Friends of Damson Parks (FoDP), a volunteer group that aims to improve the park and help with its maintenance, secured funding for the equipment to be put into place.

Grants were handed to the group from Solihull Round Table Charitable Trust and the National Lottery Awards for All programme.

Solihull Council also contributed financially towards the costs of the new equipment.

Alison Farkas, chair of FoDP, said: “We are really pleased to see the installation of these new facilities in our park.

“We have been keen to provide new activity equipment for children in the six to 13 age range and we believe that these latest play structures will do just that.

“We are very grateful to Solihull Round Table and to the National Lottery for their support, and we continue to raise funds to enable us to further enhance our park’s many attractions.”

FoDP activities to raise additional funding for further new play equipment in Damson Lane Park include an application to the Commonwealth Games legacy fund with support from Julian Knight MP.
