Apprentice Show ready to open doors once more

Solihull Editorial 9th Oct, 2022   0

TEENAGERS looking into the world of work are being invited to Solihull’s Apprenticeship Show, which returns for the first time since the pandemic.

Visitors to the Cranmore Conference Centre can speak to apprentices, employers and training providers from a range of sectors such as construction, creative, law, logistics and health care.

Exhibitors including Jaguar Land Rover, NEC Group, Solihull College and University Centre, Taylor Wimpey and West Midlands Police will be on hand from 3.30pm to 7.30pm on October 12 to discuss apprenticeships as an alternative career route to university with opportunities up to degree level.

Organised by Solihull Council, the Apprenticeship Show is part of the Solihull Careers Hub, working with schools and colleges to help every young person to find their best next step.

Solihull Council’s Employment and Skills Team will also be on hand to offer support to residents considering an apprenticeship including tips on how to make a strong application.

Councillor Karen Grinsell, deputy leader of Solihull Council, said: “We are really excited to be hosting this popular event again and I’d encourage pupils currently in years 10 to 13 to come along with their parents/carers and find out more.

“Studying an apprenticeship is a great alternative to other career pathways as it gives you the opportunity to earn as you learn, whilst also giving you industry experience.”

The event is free to attend and there is no need to book.

To make the registration process quicker on the day visitors can pre-register by completing an online form at https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/ApprenticeshipShow/.
