Solihull Council on the hunt for new foster carers

Solihull Editorial 15th May, 2022   0

SOLIHULL Council is on the hunt for foster carers across the borough to help look after local children.

This comes as the country marks Foster Care Fortnight, which runs until May 22, and showcases the commitment of foster carers and how foster care transforms lives.

The theme for 2022 is Fostering Communities and looks at the many ways in which people across the fostering community support each other.

Foster carers of all ages, cultures and backgrounds are needed in Solihull to look after children for short and longer periods of time.

Solihull Council said: “Almost anyone can become a foster carer, whether you are single, married, young or retired, a homeowner or in rented accommodation.

“All you need is a spare bedroom and a willingness to give a child a stable and loving home.”

The Council is running a virtual fostering information evening on May 18.

Anyone interested in joining, should email [email protected] to get a link to the event.
