SOLIHULL Community Housing (SCH) has pledged its support for Gas Safety Week.
Throughout the week – September 13 to 19 – the company has been using social media, its website and newsletter to raise awareness about the importance of gas safety.
Gas Safety Week wants to make the public aware of the dangers of poorly-maintained gas appliances including gas leaks, fires or carbon monoxide poisoning.
SCH chief executive Fiona Hughes said: “We are pleased to be supporting Gas Safety Week. This is an important campaign for social housing providers across the UK.
“Each year we get involved to remind our tenants how important their safety is to us and why our processes are in place.
“We will continue to support this campaign and remind our tenants why their annual gas safety inspection is essential.”
By law, all landlords must carry out an annual heating service and safety inspection.
All of the engineers SCH work with are on the Gas Safety Register. Electrical safety checks are also carried out.
