Lockdown snow fails to dampen spirits in Solihull

WHETHER you were stuck in it, playing in it or simply admired it from the window – it’s fair to say – Solihull was handed a lockdown treat with a day in the snow.

Families headed out into gardens and parks to create their very own snowmen, snowdogs and igloos.

Some even ventured to the tops of the hills to have a go at sledging.

While others took in the landscapes created by the blanket of snow.

Meanwhile, some schools in the borough closed on Monday to critical worker and vulnerable children.


Solihull Council suspended waste and recycling collections due to the conditions of side roads the council said it will collect extra rubbish and recycling on the next scheduled collection.

Bickenhill household recycling centre remained open but those with an appointment were asked to postpone their visits unless absolutely necessary and to rebook using the email notification.
