TWO INVENTIVE Solihull students have beaten the boredom blues during lockdown by developing a business to help pubs as they reopen.

Entrepreneurial teens Jack Talbot and Guy Tomlinson, both A Level Business Studies students at Solihull School, have launched Keg Seats – a company which turns old beer kegs into extra seating for beer gardens.

Jack, 17, said: “We became bored at home and came up with the idea to turn beer kegs into seats to increase capacity of outdoor areas in pubs when they reopen and throughout the summer.

“We approached Silhill Brewery Ltd who kindly loaned some products to kick-start our project.”

Guy, 18, added: “We’ve self-funded the materials for the toppers which we’ve been making at home.

“We’re receiving lots of enquiries and sales are increasing daily – we’ve even had an order from a venue in Yorkshire.”
