Lawyer's marathon effort for Scotty’s Little Soldiers children's charity

STEPHEN Malley is undertaking a marathon effort during lockdown to raise much-needed funds for national bereaved Armed Forces children’s charity Scotty’s Little Soldiers.

The Henley resident, a lawyer at Birmingham-based DLA Piper in Birmingham, is looking to complete 26.2 miles throughout May in support of bereaved forces children across the country when they need it the most.

In recent weeks, Scotty’s Little Soldiers, which currently supports 396 bereaved Armed Forces children across the UK, has had to adapt to the changes put in place in order to continue to deliver the vital support needed.

Stephen said: “I’m definitely not a runner – my cardio usually only stretches to a five to ten minute warm-up on the rower at the gym – so it’s going to be something new to me and a real challenge. I’ve done a couple of practice runs in past fortnight, including two 4K runs and the 5K run (for the NHS), but otherwise am tackling this fresh.”
