ADVICE for apprentices and employers will be given at the Solihull Apprenticeship Show, which will bring dozens of companies with vacancies to Solihull.

Solihull Council will host the apprenticeship show at the Renewal Conference Centre, on Lode Lane, from 3pm – 7.30pm on October 23.

Visitors to this free drop-in event will be able to find out about apprenticeships by talking to around 50 exhibitors from a range of sectors including engineering, finance and hospitality as they showcase opportunities on offer up to degree level.

Exhibitors confirmed include engineers Arup; accountants KPMG; the West Midlands Ambulance Service; Balfour Beatty and the NEC Group.

Solihull Council’s employment team will be on hand to offer support to those considering an apprenticeship, including tips on how to make a strong application.

Councillor Ken Meeson, Cabinet Member for Education, said: “Our Apprenticeship Shows offer a fantastic opportunity for people in Solihull to make contact with employers and learn more about the value of apprenticeships.   Apprenticeships are a great alternative to university and allow people to earn as they learn, gaining valuable work experience, whether they are continuing learning or changing careers. There will be a room full of employers and training providers to talk to including current and past apprentices who can share their experiences”.
