A NEW girls football team in Solihull has put pen to paper with local manufacturer Make UK.
Solihull FC’s under-12s girls side have received the sponsorship following their inaugural game in Division One of the Central Warwickshire Girls League.
Speaking on the deal, Solihull manager Michael Poole said: “The recent Women’s World Cup has really boosted the profile of the game, and it’s a hugely growing sport.
“Junior football is a very hand-to-mouth sport, and goodwill from organisations like Make UK plays a huge part.”
The side are seeking their first victory of the season, following a 4-2 loss to Solihull Moors on home turf at Old Silhillians Rugby Club last weekend, which added to an opening 2-1 defeat at Bournville.
Solihull return to action in just over a week’s time, when visiting Southam United on Sunday September 28 (10.30am).
