DORRIDGE are this year’s winners of the Floodlit Ton-Up Cup, after defeating local rivals Knowle & Dorridge by 59 runs in the final at Kenilworth Wardens’ Glasshouse Park.
The unbeaten Luke James (40no) and Siddesh Dixit (43) played a big role in Dorridge’s 166-8 total from just 16 overs, while David Ball (3-8) and Fahad Sabir (3-22) playing an equally crucial part with their bowling prowess.
Despite slipping to 105-8, tailender James resurrected his side’s innings in the space of 18 balls faced, firing three into the boundary and another three for six.
Blake Coburn, a New Zealand professional, conceded just 17 runs from his bowling spell, while Adam Williams (3-25) was the pick of the K&D bowlers.
Their efforts proved fruitless, however, as Knowle & Dorridge struggled to build momentum during their innings and were dismissed with four balls remaining for a 107 score.
