Rider dies when falling from horse in Solihull event

A HORSE rider has died during an event in Solihull.

Solihull Riding Club, on Four Ashes Road, Bentley Heath, Dorridge, released a statement about the incident after a dressage and show jumping event on Saturday (July 13).

An ambulance service spokesperson said: “West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Solihull Riding Club on Saturday afternoon at 4.35pm after reports that a woman had fallen from a horse and was in cardiac arrest.

“Two ambulances, a paramedic officer, a BASICS Emergency Doctor and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance were sent to the scene.




“Or arrival, ambulance staff found people at the scene carrying out CPR on the woman.

“Ambulance staff took over but sadly it was not possible to save her and she was confirmed dead at the scene.”


Solihull Riding Club said: “It is with the deepest regret that we announce that a rider died, following a fatal incident, whilst competing at the Solihull Riding Club one day event today.

“The next of kin have been informed.

“Solihull Riding Club extend their deepest sympathy to the family of the rider at this tragic time.

“Access to the grounds at SRC will be closed until further notice.

“No further information will be released at this time.”
