YOUNG talented musicians from Solihull Symphony Orchestra will take centre stage at a concert this month.
The orchestra’s annual Rising Stars concert will be held at Shirley Methodist Church on Stratford Road on March 30.
From 3.30pm Ziqi Ding, aged 10, is set to perform the second and third movements of Haydn’s Piano Concerto in C major and chose this piece because she really likes this composer. Ziqi fell in love with the piano at the age of 4 and began playing a year later.
Teenager Malayka Al Azzah, who took up the violin when she was five years old, will be playing part of Mozart’s G major Violin Concerto number three.
The 13-year-old is one of the youngest members of the Birmingham Schools’ Symphony Orchestra.
Georgina Taylor has been playing the harp for 14 years and has toured with her school orchestra to Strasbourg, Tuscany and Prague.
Jessica Li, aged 14, will take centre stage when she plays the first movement from Haydn’s Concerto in G.
Livia Rytlewska has played on various orchestras including the Birmingham Schools’ Chamber Orchestra and the Birmingham Schools Symphony.
She will be playing parts of Mozart’s Violin D major Concerto No 2.
In the second half of the concert, the orchestra will be playing Dvořák’s ever popular New World Symphony.
