Countdown on to the annual Knowle and Dorridge Lions Festive Walk on December 27

Solihull Editorial 21st Dec, 2018   0

JUST turn up and walk off the Christmas pudding.

That’s the message from Knowle and Dorridge Lions who are inviting everyone to pull on their boots for their Festive Walk on Thursday, December 27.

Celebrating the walks 26th year, the Lions hope hundreds of walkers will turn out at Baddesley Clinton National Trust property

and help raise funds for The Sepsis UK Trust and Solihull Life Opportunities as well as a variety of other local causes.

“What better way to shake off the excesses of Christmas than to get together with family and friends for a walk in the countryside,” says Organising Lion James Dawes.

“This year we are reserving half of all funds raised for the ever-growing number of requests we receive from small local causes.”

There will be a choice of four circular sign-posted walks – a 1.4-mile mini, 3.9-mile short, 5.4-mile medium and a 8.6-mile festive challenge, around the surrounding Warwickshire countryside along country lanes, towpaths and footpaths.

Walkers should note that they may start as early as 8.30am and due to parking restrictions they should fill up their cars with friends and relatives before they come.

Everyone taking part is advised to start by 10.30am and return by 4pm.

Baddesley Clinton House and Gardens will be open for walkers to view free and there will be mince pies and mulled wine for all to enjoy after their walk.
