CHILDREN at an Earlswood showed off their artistic skills and added a splash of colour to stones as part of their Remembrance Day commemorations.

Pupils at St Patrick’s Primary Academy created a tribute to the fallen with their sea of poppies 210 stones alongside a poem written by one of the teachers.

Each pupil painted a stone and will be able to take theirs home and keep it or place it in the community.

There has also been remembrance items sold at the school to raise money for the charities associated with Remembrance Day.

Parent, Vicki Hill, said: “A few moms from the parent teacher association supported the children with painting them, it was amazing seeing the effort they put into each one.

“It was nice to get the children outside, doing crafts during their lunch time rather than sat in the classroom.

“Whilst some children were painting them they were talking about the war and how sad it was.”
