Heartbreak after burner is stolen from Henley In Arden garden

HEARTLESS thieves stole a garden burner from the front garden of a man who died four months ago.

Jackie Ticer was shocked and saddened when she saw the Father Christmas burner had been stolen from her Whitley Road in Henley in Arden home between September 22 and 23.

It had been specially commissioned by her late partner Arthur Richardson, known as Jim, as he was said to look like Father Christmas.

She said he would spread the festive cheer by dressing up and visiting adults having dialysis for kidney-related diseases over the Christmas period.

He suffered from diabetes and was just 70 when he died.

The burner was made out of a large car wheel and a gas bottle and cost £200 to be handmade.

Speaking to The Observer, Jackie, Jim’s partner of nine years, said: “Jim would have been broken-hearted to think that somebody had stolen it.

“He would rather have given it them than they stole it.

“He was a lovely man.

“It would have taken at least two people to lift it as it was so heavy.”

Anyone with information should call Warwickshire Police on 101 quoting reference 23/395/24/18.
