BERKSWELL Windmill will be open to the public this Saturday (August 11).
The historic building is one of the most complete windmills in the UK.
It was last used as a working mill to mill flour back in 1948. But years of painstaking restoration have returned it to its former glory and it now looks exactly like it did back in its heyday.
Visitors can enjoy guided tours while children can try milling flour using mini-hand stones.
The Coventry weavers and spinners will be demonstrating their ancient craft.
Bill Pullen the Folk Singer will also be performing.
Saturday’s open day will run from noon to 4pm. Entrance is £3.50 for adults, £1 for under-16s and £8 for a family ticket of two adults and two under-16s. Proceeds will go to maintaining the mill.
The mill is on Windmill Lane, Balsall Common.
