Solihull Editorial 25th Jul, 2018   0

FESTIVAL-GOERS turned out in their hundreds to see international artists steal the spotlight at this year’s Solihull Jazz Festival.

The three-day festival – now in its 34th year – proved to be bigger, better and jazzier than any other before as record numbers turned out over the weekend.

A total of 17 venues, including the Mell Square stage, pubs, John Lewis and Sevenoaks Sound and Vision saw standing-room only thanks to organisers at Solihull Business Improvement District.

Artists from across the UK and Europe with Chickenbone John starting the Solihull section of the festival on Friday afternoon at Boston Tea Party, while the USA’s Brooks Williams was the final act on Sunday at the Masons Arms.

All of the stage performers proved popular with favourites Ricky Cool and The In Crowd managing to beat the spot of rain on Friday afternoon.
