THE coming together of the very young and our most senior citizens for the common good is among the best possible expressions of humanity.
All those involved in the project where Tender Years nursery children repeatedly visited St Bernards care home in Solihull deserve great praise.
Those of us who watched a similar project on a Channel 4 programme were fascinated – and it rightly serves as a model to replicate here.
Under-fives’ communication skills and understanding of history were enhanced as much as care home residents’ sense of wellbeing and mental health.
Owner of Tender Years Nursery Lisa Whitehouse said: “The bonds that have been created between the children and adults in such a short space of time is magical.”
