BREAST cancer patients in the borough are set to have a new therapy room thanks to a law firm.

Thursfields Solicitors is helping to fund the Fern therapy room at Solihull’s Breast Cancer Haven on St Bernards Road.

The new therapy room will help the charity to support women undergoing treatment for breast cancer with tailored packages of emotional, physical and practical support including counselling, acupuncture and aromatherapy massage.

Rob Pettigrew, commercial property director based at Thursfields’ Solihull office, said: “We are proud to sponsor the new Breast Cancer Haven, West Midlands centre in Solihull.

“Our sponsorship will help the charity to provide a full programme of supportive therapies to local women going through breast cancer treatment.

“The centre is a much-needed new facility to the area and we are pleased to be able to support them in providing such a great service to the local community.”

Breast Cancer Haven, West Midlands must raise £500,000 each year to run its free support service for local women.

Matthew Price, corporate fundraising officer for Breast Cancer Haven, West Midlands, said: “It’s through the generosity of companies like Thursfields that we will be able to support women with breast cancer to hold on to their individuality, confidence and strength.”

The charity’s West Midlands centre opened in October and since then has been oversubscribed with scores of women with breast cancer accessing the service.
