Solihull charities offer gift-wrapping in exchange for donations

SOLIHULL charities will offer a gift-wrapping service in exchange for festive donations.

Solihull-based shopping centre, Mell Square is spreading the Christmas cheer by joining forces with local charities Solihull Young Carers, British Heart Foundation, St Basils and Solihull Hospital Charity, to host the gift-wrapping service in December.

It will take place between 10am and 3pm every Saturday in December.

Each Saturday, the gift wrapping service will be hosted by a different charity, whose volunteers will be at the ready with sticky tape and Farrow & Ball festive paper. All donations received will be given entirely to the charity which is manning the workshop on that day.

For those Christmas shoppers who would like to wait to have their presents wrapped, they can sit down and enjoy a hot drink and festive nibble courtesy of Café Isabella.

Rob Hemus, IM Properties asset manager, said: “Christmas is well-known as a time for giving, so this year we wanted to reflect this into our festive activity.

“We are looking forward to working alongside Solihull charities and those based in Mell Square itself.

“We hope to see local shoppers support this fantastic initiative and donate to these worthy causes.”

The Mell Square gift wrapping will be hosted by the below charities on the following dates:

Saturday 2nd December – Solihull Hospital Charity

Saturday 9th December – British Heart Foundation

Saturday 16th December – Solihull Young Carers

Saturday 23rd December – St Basils
