Dozens of new jobs created at Birmingham Airport

DOZENS of new jobs have been created at Birmingham Airport.

Leisure airline Jet2 has announced further investment at the Solihull-based airfield as part of its operations at the base.

The company has taken all ramp-handling services in-house – creating 120 new fixed term and permanent jobs for summer next year.

Working as part of the ground operations team, successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring flights depart safely and on time.




Jet2 are also looking to recruit passenger service agents at Birmingham Airport to look after customers prior to flying.

Steve Heapy, chief executive of Jet2, said: “We have enjoyed huge success since starting operations from Birmingham Airport earlier this year.


“Next summer will be a much bigger and create a more ambitious flights and holidays programme.

“To support this, we are investing significantly into our operation.

“This will enable us to build on our award-winning service and deliver a better customer experience.”
