FOOD was scoffed and drinks were quaffed as thousands flocked to the Solihull Food and Drink Festival at the weekend.
Rain failed to dampen spirits as the abundance of sizzling street food, live music and Hairy Biker Dave Myers’ sell-out cookery shows brought Mell Square to life.
Families joined in with the dynamic Katy Ashworth hosting an energetic show that had mums and dads in dance-offs and kids in stitches with her popular CBeebies routines.
The Big Ale Trail saw hundreds of people following the ale trail map to sample some of the town centre’s finest tipples.
Solihull Food and Drink Festival was organised by Solihull Business Improvement District (BID) and Director, Melanie Palmer, said: “This weekend showcased our businesses all working together to make this the biggest festival Solihull has seen to date.
“Hairy Biker Dave Myers hosted five sell-out shows over the weekend and community groups such as Solihull College and Solihull Moors Football Club came together with local dance and theatre schools to offer something for everyone.”
