Experience chorister life at St Alphege church

Solihull Editorial 25th Sep, 2017   0

YOUNGSTERS from across the borough are being invited to take part in a rare opportunity to experience the life of a cathedral chorister for the day.

Children from year 3 and above from all over the borough will have the chance to sing, take part in music theory games, explore the church and learn more about the life of a St Alphege chorister.

St Alphege Church in Solihull is one of the few parish churches in the country that still possesses separate choirs of girls and boys and is able to offer an education similar to that of places like King’s College, Cambridge.

Parents are welcome to stay for as much of the day as they wish, though adult supervision will be in place so parents are not obliged to stay.

The girls’ session will run from 9.30am to 12.15pm on September 30, with families invited to return to hear a service at 11.45am.

Refreshments will be provided.

Places are limited, for more contact the Director of Music, Joe Cooper on 07935 962677 or email [email protected]
