Teenager arrested on suspicion of carrying machete in Yardley

A 13-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of carrying a machete in a public place.

A member of the public flagged down passing police and reported a youth had been spotted walking along Mansfield Road in Yardley on Monday (September 4).

Following a search of the area the teen was found to be in possession of a machete and arrested.

The youth has since been released pending further investigation.




B’ham East Response tweeted: “13 year old arrested by @AcocksGreenWMP for being in possession of a machete. Assisting in transportation to custody.”

They added: “Thanks to the member of public flagging down an officer re the youth with a machete.”
