Volunteers needed to help pick up litter in Dickens Heath

VOLUNTEERS are needed to help keep Dickens Heath tidy.

The Residents Association is calling on Silhillians to help out at an organised litter pick for an hour per month on a Saturday morning in a bid to boost the efforts already put in to keep the area sparkling.

At the moment Solihull Council are responsible for a weekly litter pick in line with the agreed Rural Area Standard with a special footway clean-up every fourth week.

In addition the Parish Council employ a part time litter picker around the village and the Dickens Heath Management Company are responsible for the daily clean-up of the private central area of Main Street and the car parks.




The next meeting, which has been organised on behalf of the Parish Council by Councillor David Jones, will take place on Saturday (June 10) from 10.30am until 11.30am all equipment will by provided by Solihull Council who will also pick up the bags of litter.

Anyone interested in helping out should meet outside the Library.


The clean-up will be followed by Refreshments provided by Tesco.
