Hampton in Arden fundraiser is a sporting success

CHILDREN at Hampton-in-Arden Preschool took part in a fundraising sports event to raise money for the school.

The youngsters, aged two to three, took part in a mini fun run after participating in an interactive training session led by professional trainers from Hampton Gym.

In the run up to the event, the pupils collected sponsorship from family and friends – which will be used to invest in new resources for the preschool.

Parents of the ‘young athletes’ were also involved in fundraising when they took part in the Knowle Fun Run on Sunday (May 21).

As part of the fun-filled fundraiser, participants ran in tutus – even the men.

One parent, Lousie Cowlishaw, said the event was a fun way for the children and other parents to get involved with helping the school raise funds.

In addition to resources, the money raised will go towards developing a ‘Forest School’, which will promote outside and creative learning.

Nicola Stocks, pre-school manager, said: “The children were excited about taking part in their own fun run and practiced every day.

“Taking part in events like this boosts the children’s confidence and self-esteem and gives them a sense of achievement, which is so important at their age.

“I am so proud of them all for taking part with such enthusiasm. “
