SILHILLIANS are being urged to put their best foot forward in May and get out and about across the borough as part of National Walking Month.
The Walk Solihull campaign aims to help people discover the benefits of walking, explore their local area and find local walking groups.
Free guided walks will be taking place in Chelmsley Wood and Shirley throughout the month.
Walks in Chelmsley Wood will meet at 10:30am at St Andrew’s Church on May 2, 16 and 30.
Walks in Shirley will meet at 10:30am at Shirley Library on May 12 and 26.
Alternatively, people can have a go at Nordic walking with a free session taking place at the Active for Life event at Tudor Grange Leisure Centre between 1pm and 2pm on May 17.
The campaign includes a photo competition where Solihull’s strollers can share photos of their favourite places to walk in the borough.
To enter, people should upload their photos to Facebook or Twitter with #walksolihull and the winning photographer will receive a Fitbit Charge 2 fitness wristband.
