Blossomfield Ladies settle for a point at Kettering

SOLIHULL Blossomfield Ladies produced their best performance of the season so far but it was not enough as they were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw away at Kettering.
Despite dominating much of the possession, the visitors could only come away with a point thanks to Amelia Thompson’s second half strike.
Kettering fielded a strong side mixed with youth and experience and were deadly in the counter attack, making the most of chances afforded to them.
They scored first with a break in open play during the first ten minutes but Bloss eventually got into their stride and equalised before half-time.
The ball was picked up by Kate Digby in midfield who drove at pace to the D, and delivered a strong ball onto the stick of Emily Terrazas Cruz who clinically deflected it into the goal.
The second half was a similar pattern. Bloss had the lions share of possession but Kettering were clinical on the counter and scored their second with some beautiful skill in the D.
Bloss equalised by bringing the ball down the right, which was passed into Amelia Thompson in the D. With her back to goal Amelia took the ball on her reserve side and passed the keeper with a reverse stick flick.
Despite lots of home side pressure in the last ten minutes the visitors held on for the draw.
