A SCULPTOR from Solihull has shaped himself a successful career and is now building his own sculptured landscaping business.
Luke Burton, who was diagnosed with dyslexia at a young age, often found himself looking for items around his house to sculpt.
But it wasn’t until he turned a teenager he realised his talent for the technical art.
Whilst waiting for his sculpting career to take off, Luke decided to take up landscaping where he could experiment with his artistic flair.
Fast-forward a few years and Luke has designed a 22-foot Olympic Diving Monument in aid of Help for Heroes, sculptured a Paralympic statue outside Marco Pierre White’s restaurant in Birmingham and has worked on various projects involving recycled materials – but he claims this is only just the start.
Since then, the 34-year-old has decided to fuse his two passions together and set up his own sculptured landscaping business – LBS Landscaping Design.
Recognised for his outstanding work and contribution to Birmingham’s art-work, Luke has been invited along to the Midlands Luxury Show at The Belfry tomorrow (September 23) to showcase his new venture.
Speaking to The Observer, Luke said: “It’s a great feeling to have my work recognised.
“I used to be very private with my art-work, but setting up the sculptured landscaping business has been a complete turning point.
“It’s a privilege to be asked to take part in a show which brings together the Midland’s greatest designers – including Rolls Royce.”
