TEENAGER Elizabeth Gahan has been selected to represent England at Under-16 level in the forthcoming European Junior Bridge Championships in Italy.
Elizabeth started playing bridge at Dorridge School as part of an after school club which was set up in conjunction with Myra Scott, who is Warwickshire CBA’s County Development Officer, and her team of volunteers.
She now regularly, when school work permits, at West Midlands Bridge Club with a variety of partners and will now represent her country in Salsamaggiore from August 3-13.
Elizabeth’s partner for National and International events is Megan Jones from Coventry. They played together in the most prestigious teams event in the English Bridge Union calendar, Schapiro Spring Foursomes at Stratford-upon-Avon recently.
