Trespasser strips community-run centre of its supplies

A RUTHLESS trespasser raided Wythall Animal Sanctuary – stripping the community-run centre of its supplies.

And has left the sanctuary relying on food donations.

The centre – which homes over 100 rescue animals – was targeted on Sunday (May 15) and caught on CCTV.

The offender gatecrashed the sanctuary and swiped the goods – before making a swift exit in a red Volkswagen Up.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: “The suspect is described as a white man of a slim build, between 30 to 40 years of age.

“He was believed to have dark coloured hair with the back and sides shaved, and was thought to be wearing blue jeans, a black hooded jacket and black trainers.”

The selfish attack has caused great upset and has left the sanctuary discussing future security plans – an expense which will hit the centre hard.

Sanctuary manager, Alison X said: “We’re extremely shocked that someone would steal from charity which relies so much on the generosity of the public.

“As the incident has left us quite vulnerable, we’ve set up a crowdfunding page to raise funds to improve our security system”

Police are looking to find the suspect responsible and are urging witnesses to come forward with any information.
