PUPILS at Solihull School were given top tips by one of the country’s biggest stars during a recent visit by England international Ama Agbeze.
Ama, who has won 69 caps for England and a bronze medal in the 2006 Commonwealth Games, took time off from her busy training schedule to run two coaching sessions at the school.
The England ace, who was born at Selly Oak in Birmingham, also held a question and answer session with the pupils and signed autographs for the young stars of tomorrow.
“It was a great thrill for the girls to be coached by such a global netball superstar and to get her tips on how to defend,” said Solihill School netball coach Helen Smith.
“She is an amazing player and her fantastic performance in the Vitality Netball International Series against Australia earned her the England’s Player of the Series award. She was also voted Sky Sportswoman of the Month in January.”
Ama has recently been playing in Australia and New Zealand in the ANZ Championship and has just returned home to play for her old club Loughborough Lightning in the 2016 Vitality Netball Superleague.
