SHIRLEY Carnival basked in the sunshine last year and organisers are hoping this year the sun will shine once more as it heads off to sea.
Local dancers and musical groups will be performing at Shirley Park on Saturday, July 11, at this year’s pirate-themed carnival.
Once the gates have been opened at midday by special guest Jack Sparrow there will be plenty for shipmates to enjoy from fancy dress competitions to Punch and Judy, live music and charity stalls to look around.
