THE HEAVEN’S above were the focus for thousands of Silhillians on Friday (March 20).
A near full solar eclipse saw the skies darken and temperature drop for a few minutes around 9.30am as the moon moved across the sun.
The weather for experiencing the eclipse in the Midlands was among the best in the UK, which was fortunate as there will not be another chance to see a similar eclipse until 2026.
From simple protective glasses to top-of-the-range telescopes, people did their best to make sure they did not miss the solar show.
