MELL SQUARE is set to be a hive of music and entertainment as BHBN Radio takes over this weekend.
The hospital and community broadcasting service will be hosting a pop-up event on Saturday (July 25).
From 11.30am the station’s team of volunteers will host a live outdoor broadcast packed with family-friendly entertainment including a question and answer session on how to join the team, an under 10s disco and a Sparkly Selfie Station.
The BHBN team said: “We love bringing music and comfort to patients to hospitals and care homes but it’s just as vital for us to connect with the wider community outside the wards.
“This Mell Square event is the perfect opportunity for the people of Solihull to meet our team, have some family fun, and find out how they can support our broadcasting family.”
Operating since 1952, BHBN Radio provides 24/7 companionship, news, and musical comfort to patients across West Midlands hospitals, including Solihull Hospital on Lode Lane.
The charity is run entirely by volunteers who rely completely on public donations to keep the service on the air.
