SOLIHULL artists have taken over a shop to showcase their skills.
A group of seven artists have teamed up with Touchwood and Solihull Council for an initial three-month period to display and sell their artwork.
Studio Gallery Solihull, in the former Lakeland cookware store also gives visitors a chance to speak with the artists to find out about the creative process.
Artworks include painting as acrylic, oils, mixed media, glassworks and felting.
The shop has been revamped and opened as an art hub with artists joining councillors, representatives from Touchwood and Mell Square as well as guests and residents.
Vicky, from the collective, said: “The artists would like to thank Tony, Louise and the Touchwood team together with the Solihull Council for this new and exciting opportunity.
“Solihull is shining a light on the artists of the borough. Culture Solihull is growing in strength.
“We’ve been working together to deliver a well presented gallery with provision for artists to work on their paintings, and host workshops.
“Each of us have now selected our artwork for display inside the gallery, having now sectioned the space per artist in the Touchwood Shopping Centre unit. It’s very exciting but also a relief to have made great strides into our new venture.”
