AN APPEAL to find a bike involved in a collision with a teenage boy in Castle Vale has been renewed.

West Midlands Police said a 14-year-old was hit by the bike in Castle Vale Centre Park shortly before 8pm on May 31 and was taken to hospital where he remains with serious injuries.

Police believe the bike involved was a black and yellow off-road scrambler, and have released images of it.

The force said although the pictures it has released aren’t the clearest – any information could be vital to the investigation.

Det Sgt Rich Evans, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU), said: “Someone, somewhere must know something about this bike, and we are focussed on finding it as we continue our investigation.

“It may have been dumped or may be being stored.

“Any information, no matter how small, could be vital to our enquiries.

“Likewise, if anyone saw what happened, or has footage from around the area, please get in touch urgently.”

A 16-year-old boy who was arrested has been released on bail.

Anyone with information or footage should contact police on 101, via Live Chat on the force’s website or email [email protected] and quote log 4455 of May 31.
