MORE THAN £90,000 was raised at Heartlands Hospital Charity second Iftar Dinner.

The community came together during Ramadan to boost funds for the hospital charity’s Cancer Appeal, which aims to raise £150,000 to fund the refurbishment of a new Haematology and Oncology Centre at the Hospital.

Charlotte Schofield, director of fundraising for the charity, said: “I’m so proud to be able to say that we hosted such an incredible event. The response from the community around Heartlands was amazing, we have had so much support we’re honestly overwhelmed.

“The money raised will make an enormous difference to patients and their families at Heartlands Hospital, making many things possible for us to do, in terms of equipment and support.

“Every year, we fund a huge range of projects across the hospital, none of which would be possible without the incredible, and selfless support of the people who donate and fundraise for us. Without them none of this would be possible.”

The Charity’s mission is to save, change and rebuild lives, going over and above what the NHS can provide, funding a huge range of projects every year, from state-of-the-art equipment, life-saving research, and wellbeing support that helps tens of thousands of patients every year.
