A CELEBRATION of Solihull is set to taken centre stage as the Mayor marks her year in office.
Solihull Shines will spotlight young talent across the borough, with all ticket proceeds raising funds for the Mayor’s three chosen charities: the Cameron Grant Memorial Trust, Newlands Bishops Farm, and Our Voice, Our Services (OVOS).
On April 10 from 7pm the Core Theatre will host the event and have announced several enthralling young performers, with a mix of vocal, dance, theatre, and spoken word performances for the audience to delight in.
The evening’s line-up includes the Young Poet Laureate Birmingham, Japmeh Kaur Gujral who will share some of her thought-provoking writing, and a unique performance from Say What?! theatre group, made up of young people from various cultural backgrounds who come together and celebrate their differences.
Solo dancer Hadija Brittain will be fusing ballroom and Latin dance with Hip Hop, and the Young Aerialists from West Midlands Circus Centre will show off their sophisticated routines which explore aerial hoop skills, acrobatics, silks, and floor work.
Rock band Jake T White will also take to the stage, mixing old school riffs with polished perfection, and drama group Solihull On Stage have decided to treat the audience with a sneak peek of their upcoming adaptation of The Little Mermaid.
VIP Attendees will also get to experience stellar singing from twins Stacey and Tracey, who have gained over 50,000 followers on TikTok due to their flawless voices, and will have the chance to enjoy impressive vocalist Amara Latchford.
The Mayor of Solihull, Councillor Annette Mackenzie, said: “I am honoured that this event is being run to celebrate my year in office and can raise money for three charities very close to my heart.
