SOLIHULL Moors saw their winless run stretch to three matches following a goalless draw away at struggling Braintree Town.
Neither side could break the deadlock at Cressing Road as the game ended in a stalemate.
The result means Moors sit 10th in the National League table, nine points outside of the play-off places.
Moors went close early on as Braintree goalkeeper Mason Terry tipped Jacob Wakeling’s low effort from 20-yards out around the post at full stretch.
The home side broke on the counter attack from the resulting corner as Laurie Walker kept out Chay Cooper’s low drive across goal.
Moors failed to properly clear their lines as former Solihull player Elliot Thorpe curled a dangerous cross across the face of goal with nobody able to turn the ball home.
The home side went close again as James Clarke produced a heroic block to turn Zavier Massiah-Edwards’ goalbound effort behind for a corner.
Moors responded with a chance of their own as Terry sprung to his left to push Scott High’s effort to safety before the keeper held Wakeling’s strike from distance.
Solihull then blocked Ben Drake’s close-range effort behind when the defender looked certain to score from inside the six-yard box.
The home side spurned a golden chance to break the deadlock early in the second period as Ryan Clampin missed his kick and tripped over the ball with only a defender to beat on the line eight-yards from goal.
Moors missed a gilt-edged chance of their own later in the half when Conor Wilkinson released Darius Lipsiuc who saw his shot saved by the boot of Terry when one-on-one.
The visitors went close again seven minutes from time as Wilkinson curled a shot inches past the post from 25-yards out.
Solihull are next in action against Redditch United in the Birmingham Senior Cup on Tuesday, February 17 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Damson Park.
