A SOLIHULL nursery and infant school have welcomed a new leadership team.

Kieran Prescott has taken over as headteacher at Damson Wood Nursery and Infant School Academy and is joined by deputy headteacher Joey Wright.

Kieran brings many years of teaching experience alongside a strong background in senior leadership roles within early years and primary education.

He is known for his commitment to inclusive education, high-quality teaching expectation and nurturing school communities where children feel safe, confident and inspired to learn.

Joey also brings extensive teaching experience and also has a well-established knowledge within senior leadership positions.

Joey has a particular passion for both English and outdoor learning and is the Forest School lead, championing opportunities for children to learn through nature, exploration and play to support both wellbeing and academic development.

The school’s chief executive, Graeme Burgess, said: “Kieran and Joey bring a wealth of experience, leadership and passion for education.

“Their shared values and commitment to the community make them an excellent fit for our school.

“We are excited about the future and the opportunities ahead for our pupils and look forward to seeing the positive impact their leadership will bring.”
