SOLIHULL pupils raised a whopping £941.50 on a fundraising venture.

As part of BBC Children in Need all 664 pupils at Balsall Common Primary School, which is part of Central Schools Trust, took part in a series of themed walking challenges, echoing the determination and teamwork displayed in the BBC Midlands fundraiser.

Children worked in pairs and groups to complete their own two-mile walk around the school grounds, helping to totalling the 1,000-mile walk.

Meanwhile, at Damson Wood Infant School, pupils and staff brightened the school community by wearing Pudsey-inspired attire, with colourful ears and spots.

Over the week, both schools held assemblies, all designed to celebrate kindness, generosity and the importance of supporting others.

Graeme Burgess, chief executive of Central Schools Trust, said, “I’m incredibly proud of how our pupils embraced Children in Need—whether completing their two-mile challenge or wearing Pudsey colours.

“Their enthusiasm reflects the very best of our school communities and builds awareness that some children need extra support. Together, we can make a meaningful impact.”
