A PAIR of Solihull artists are set to bring colour, creativity and local spirit to Dorridge on Saturday (November 29).
Jaimie Volkaerts and Carolina Arbuthnot have teamed up for a one-day free exhibition – Joy and Expression – which celebrates joy and self-expression through two very different artistic voices.
Jaimie’s atmospheric and expressive abstract paintings use bold colour and movement to capture emotion and energy, while Carolina’s playful whimsical animal inspired artworks bring delight through familiar yet imaginative characters full of humour and warmth.
Together, their work creates a vibrant and uplifting space that welcomes art lovers, collectors alike.
Jaimie said: “We wanted to create something that shares the joy we feel when we create our work.
Carolina’s animal characters make people smile and are filled with love, fun and friendship, while my abstract work stirs emotion and creates a space for reflection and imagination – somehow they meet in the middle.”
The exhibition, held at Ye Olde Knowle Bowling Club on Grange Road, will run from noon until 5pm on November 29.
For Jaimie, abstract painting is both spontaneous yet intentional.
After leaving a corporate career, Jaimie discovered her love of art after taking some local art classes.
She is now a professional artist and works independently and is represented by several galleries.
Carolina is a published artist with Image Design Northern Editions, she studied medicine at Liverpool University and works as a haematologist in Warwickshire.
She has continued her passion for art since childhood and over the past seven years she has become a professional artist exhibiting her artworks through galleries and exhibitions.
