West Midlands Police continue to be one of the fastest and most effective forces in the country when it comes to answering your calls for help.
After major investment in the forces people and technology, it has transformed responses emergency and non-emergency calls.
National released data shows West Midlands Police is the top-performing force when considering both the 999 and 101 service.
Between August 2024 and September 2025 97.4 per cent of 101 calls were answered within three minutes and the average answer time was 22 seconds.
In the same time frame 94.9 per cent of 999 calls answered within 10 seconds and the average 999 answer time was two seconds.
Assistant Chief Constable Matt Welsted, who leads Force Contact, said: “These figures speak volumes to how we prioritise serving the public by getting the basics right. When we answer calls quickly and effectively, our officers get to crime scenes faster, arrest suspects sooner, and begin investigations without delay.
“This level of performance is almost unheard of in forces of our size. It’s a credit to the professionalism and dedication of our staff, who are ready 24/7 to respond to whatever the public needs.”
